The Lake District is most commonly known for its stunning countryside and sculptured mountain passes. Hosting the most renowned and iconic stages at the Tour of Britain, the Lake District is becoming widely recognised for its cycling prowess, in addition to its beautiful landscapes. Riders in the Lake District are treated to a true cycling challenge. We ride away from the slightly busier tourist honey pots to uncover an abundance of winding, testing and narrow country lanes. The weather can be unreliable so adds another degree of challenge to this particular Velusso experience. An abundant combination of twisting lakeside roads and challenging climbs makes it one of the UK’s most spectacular destinations to ride your bike.

The Velusso Georgian Manor House is eloquently designed to ensure guests experience the Lake District at its very best. Our house has private access to the much desired Lake Windermere, boasting unrivalled panoramic views of the national parks most popular lake.
Built in 1820, the Manor House is a Grade II listed building. It’s recently been immaculately restored with beautiful furnishings and modern luxuries, whilst maintaining much of its period character.
Light and spacious reception rooms with floor-length windows and views towards the lake and surrounding woodland, offer many a place to relax and socialise after a days riding. The grand dining room, with marble fireplace, high-backed chairs and portraits set on deep-coloured walls, is a room designed for dining in style. Each of the unique 8 bedrooms is complimented with elegantly designed en-suite bathrooms, for added comfort and convenience.

All meals during your stay are created with the professional cyclist in mind and we take pride in providing the right nutrition at the right time. In tandem with this, we also like to offer an authentic experience and show off what our chosen destinations have to offer, by providing you with a real taste of the local area.
Your Villa Host will freshly prepare energy-boosting breakfasts, homemade ride snacks and drinks to make sure you’re feeling strong whilst out riding. On your return, you’ll be treated to the Velusso Protein Bar, which will contain a variety of freshly made options and whey products, all containing scientifically proven nutrients to aid your recovery. Post ride lunches are then prepped and served by your Villa Host on request.
Evening meals are then prepared by your in-house chef, who will cook delicately created local dishes made to order. Beverages will be served to accompany dinner, most of which are sourced from resident vineyards and breweries. On your final evening, everyone is invited to dine in a nearby restaurant and experience the local culture and evening atmosphere.
Looking and feeling good on the bike is important, so we provide each guest with a selection of Velusso kit, designed by us and manufactured by our new 2016/17 kit partner, Le Col.
Our short sleeve jersey is created using a Meryl Microfibre, which is slow to absorb and swift to transfer moisture, keeping riders dry and comfortable in a variety of climates. A gummy lycra shield holds the sleeve in place for extra comfort, as well as an ergonomic and stylish collar shape. Racing green is the colour of choice for our Lake District jersey, in keeping with emblematic British tradition.
Our bib shorts are specially designed for both comfort and performance. The oversized Velusso gripper has intermittent tabs while still holding firmly in place. The minimalistic design boasts style and compliments the various destination jerseys.
